Finance Senior Manager Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Finance Senior Manager to join our dynamic finance team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing key aspects of financial reporting, analysis, and control. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Manage the preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making. Monitor performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to provide insights into business performance, identify trends, and support strategic initiatives. Prepare presentations and reports to communicate findings to management.
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulations. Identify and implement improvements to internal control processes.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback. Foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency. Leverage technology to automate tasks and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process. Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
- Strategic Planning: Participate in strategic planning initiatives, providing financial insights and analysis to support long-term growth and profitability.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws. Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting pronouncements and regulatory requirements.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Support various ad hoc projects and initiatives as needed, providing financial expertise and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA certification required.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 3 years in a management role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial planning software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
